LG Nexus 5 2015 Huawei Nexus

This year Google will launch two different Nexus handsets, the first time it’s launched two phones in one year. A couple of new reports offer more details about the LG and Huawei Nexus smartphones, as well as a first set of images that could show a prototype for one of the two devices.

Tech site GizmoChina has scored what it claims to be the full set of specs and features for the new LG Nexus, as well as some specs for Huawei’s rumored phone.

The website says the 2015 Nexus 5 will feature a 5.2-inch Full HD P-OLED display (1920 x 1080 resolution), Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor, up to 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, up to 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, 3,180 mAh battery and MediaTek MT3188 wireless charging receiver.

The Nexus 5 will also feature a 13-megapixel camera with IMX278 sensor, 6-element f/1.8 aperture lens, optical image stabilization (OIS), laser autofocus and dual-tone LED flash, and a 4-megapixel front-facing camera with Iris Detection. The phone also packs front-facing stereo speakers, a rear power button with integrated fingerprint sensor, and a USB Type-C connector with QuickCharge 2.0 technology.

The new Nexus 5 will supposedly have an aluminum frame with chamfered edges, a plastic back cover, and it’ll be priced at between $300 to $400.

The site also mentioned some Huawei Nexus specs, though not in a similarly detailed fashion. The new Nexus phablet will supposedly have a 5.7-inch WQHD AMOLED display, metal unibody design, 21-megapixel IMX230 sensor camera and Rezence/WiPower wireless charging.

A second report coming from French tech site NowhereElse shows a video of a Huawei Nexus prototype that seems to be largely similar to Huawei’s Ascend Mate 7 handset. The device is not powered, but certain design elements are clearly visible, including a Nexus 5-like round camera and a fingerprint sensor on the back – see the video below.

The company should unveil and launch new Nexus hardware at some point this fall with the official launch of Android M.
