This might be the most surprising feature of 2015’s top LG Android smartphone

LG G4 Rumors: G Pen Stylus

LG might be discontinuing its phablet line next year, but that doesn’t mean the Android handset maker will not be ready to meet the needs of phablet buyers. In fact, a new report from Chinese publication IT Home seems to suggest the next top Android flagship from LG will pack a certain special feature to better compete against the best-selling Android phablet in the world.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note line prominently features the S Pen stylus that the company has worked hard to refine and improve over the past several years. In fact, the S Pen is one of the most advertised features of the recently launched Galaxy Note 4 and it’s a unique characteristic for the phablet.

To better compete against the Galaxy Note 4, the G4 might also have such powers, IT Home says.

The publication speculates that G4 buyers will be able to better take advantage of the device’s big screen with help of a special G Pen stylus that’ll work just like Samsung’s S Pen. IT Home adds that recent trademark filings with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office have revealed that LG is working on an LG G Pen stylus. Moreover, the company applied for an LG G Scrawl trademark that may be the future name of the special G Pen software bundle.

The G4 is rumored to have a 5.3-inch display with 2560 x 1440 resolution, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, microSD support, 20.7-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization technology, 3,500 mAh battery and Android 5.0 Lollipop.
