Video: LG gives the world its first offical look at the G3

May 23rd, 2014 at 12:15 PM
LG G3 Specs and Features Video

Even though LG’s G3 media event is less than a week away, the company can’t wait to share more details about the device with the public and generate even more buzz for its 2014 flagship handset. After confirming the phone’s name, display specs and launching a special QuickWindow case, the company has released new teaser ads for its home country, which confirm other G3 rumors including all the recent G3 image leaks. In three very short videos, LG is teasing three G3 features including the display, design and camera of the handset.

A 17-second design video shows the handset from various angles, confirming what image leaks have revealed about the handset so far. The G3 appears to have a metal (or faux metal) curved back, a large display, physical buttons on the back, and an extra camera sensor.

The display video confirms the G3 will feature a 2K (2560 x 1440) screen, while the camera video seems to indicate the phone will offer better performance at night, and could feature optical image stabilization.

The device will be unveiled on May 27 in various international markets, with LG launching it in South Korea on May 28, probably to coincide with the international announcement.

Actual availability details and pricing information remain a mystery, but a recent series of image leaks have confirmed other key features of the G3, which may be important to many buyers. According to various sites that have posted pictures to back up their claims, the G3 will have a removable battery and microSD support – comparatively, the G2 did not have such features.

LG’s three teaser videos follow below.
