A few days ago, Samsung unveiled the Gear S, a brand new Tizen-powered smartwatch that happens to have smartphone features thanks to its embedded SIM, and comes with a large, square, curved display. Apple is expected to unveil the iWatch next week during its iPhone 6 event, and designer Martin Hajek – who has provided various iPhone 6 renders based on recent leaks – has imagined what the iOS smartwatch would look like.

Hajek’s iWatch version is somewhat similar to the Gear S, as it’s also packing a square, curvy display. However, the device also has a camera and multiple buttons, akin to what is found on an iPhone. The designer also seems to think the device will have a metal body just like the iPhone, and hence require plastic antenna inserts to connect to the iPhone.

Obviously, the smarwatch shown in Hajek’s render is just a concept that has nothing to do with Apple’s actual iWatch design. Notably, unlike recent iPhone 6 renders from the same designer that were based on the many iPhone 6 leaks all revealing the same design lines for the upcoming iPhone model, Hajek did not have any iWatch leaks at his disposal for inspiration, as the actual design of the device has not been leaked yet.
