How to Use Facebook’s Snapchat-like Photo Tools on Your iPhone

iPhone Facebook Snapchat Photo Tools

Facebook has a new toy for those users who like taking pictures of everything around them and sharing those shots with family and friends. Confirmed over the weekend, the photo-editing tool that’s similar to Snapchat’s tool should already be available to most iPhone users, with an Android version expected to launch in the future.

CNET has put together a quick guide on how to use the new feature inside the Facebook iOS application.

The first thing you should do is determine whether you can use it on your iPhone or iPad. To do so, next time you upload a picture to Facebook, you should see if there’s any animation for it. If you see a finger swipe across the screen and a line that indicates you can add filters to the image, then the feature is enabled yet for your account.

Once that’s done, you can start editing your photo. You can swipe over it to change filters (there are seven to choose from) and use other tools in the editing menu that can be accessed by simply pressing the circular button in the lower-left corner.

You can add text, stickers, tags and even crop the photo if that’s something you want to do before posting it on Facebook.

One more thing: you should know that Facebook’s new photo-editing functionality isn’t exactly like Snapchat when it comes to one critical feature. The photos you share with your friends aren’t temporary. They’re there to stay until you delete them from your profile, so make sure you don’t confuse the two services when it comes to sharing rique pics.
