This might be the stupidest iPhone 6s prediction yet – and it would be terrible, if true

iPhone 6s Rumors: Release Date

Apple is expected to launch new iPhone 6s models this fall, in line with its typical new iPhone releases, and some rumors have already detailing several of the features expected on these next-generation devices. For example, one analyst who has been accurate with iPhone predictions in the past said recently that Apple will launch only new 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models this fall, and that the company might skip the expected iPhone 6s naming scheme and jump directly to iPhone 7. Meanwhile, a wild guess from Taiwan-based supply chain sources who spoke to Digitimes suggests a scenario that is almost impossible to believe.

DON’T MISS: I really wanted to hate the Apple Watch

These sources say that iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus shipments will continue to remain strong in the June quarter, with Apple seen shipping 60 million units in total, significantly higher than the expected 50 million units mark.

Most interestingly, the sources guess that Apple “may defer the launch of new iPhone models,” as the “sales performance for the iPhone 6 series has been better than originally estimated.”

As proven by Apple’s recent numbers for the March quarter, the iPhone continues to sell phenomenally well for the company, but it’s hardly likely Apple will miss out on what’s probably going to be a new record Christmas quarter fueled by strong iPhone 6s/7 sales this year just because the iPhone 6 is still a strong contender.

Digitimes further added that Chinese smartphone makers will not enjoy increased shipments in the second quarter of 2015, even though growth expected.
