As if Samsung needed any more bad news this year, it looks like the iPhone 6s might be the new phone of choice in the South Korean company’s home market. On Monday, Yonhap News Agency reported that preorders for the new iPhones sold out within minutes of becoming available ahead of the October 23rd launch.

“We’re getting an amazing response,” an official at the KT Corp. mobile carrier told Yonhap. “We expected to take at least 30 minutes to sell the first 50,000. There was notably a huge demand for the rose gold.”

It didn’t take anywhere close to 30 minutes — rather, KT says that 10,000 iPhone 6s and 6s Plus models had been reserved within a minute of preorders going live. 10 minutes later, KT was forced to close its first round of preorders as all 50,000 units that had been set aside had been reserved by anxious customers.

Another popular carrier, SK Telecom experienced similar demand, shutting down its preorder initiative after 30 minutes. For LG Uplus, the third major carrier, it only took five minutes to sell out of iPhone 6s models.

With the iPhone 6s release less than a week away, both LG and Samsung have cut the prices of their flagship phones in order to sway hometown customers back in their favor, but it doesn’t seem to be slowing the enthusiasm for the iPhone 6s so far.
