New report squashes your dreams of a 32GB entry-level iPhone 6s

iPhone 6s Plus Pricing 16GB 64GB 128GB

Soon after Apple released iOS 8 last year, it became abundantly clear to many users that a 16GB device isn’t going to cut it any longer. Apple partially fixed iOS 8’s massive storage problems in subsequent iOS 8 incremental updates, and it plans to fix this issue for good once iOS 9 rolls out. Many assumed the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus would be available in 32GB as entry-level models, and some reports said that will happen this year.

However, various others said that 16GB would remain the lowest storage tier for new iPhones for one more year, and more and more leaks indicate that’s indeed going to be the case. After a report from a Dutch tech site said a few days ago said the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will have the same price points as their predecessors, a new story on the Chinese iPhone 6s launch indicates the same thing.

Apple fan site Apple World Today, quoting a Leaksfly microblog that was mentioned by global investment newswire, says the iPhone 6s family is launching in China on September 25th, with preorders set to start on September 18th.

The iPhone 6s is supposed to hit stores on September 18th, with preorders beginning on September 11th in Apple’s initial markets. Last year, Apple had to delay the Chinese launch of the iPhone 6 by nearly a month, as it waited for regulatory approval in the country.

Apple World Today further says the iPhone 6s will be available in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB models, according to sources within China Mobile.
