iPhone 6s Delay

Apple fans, we have good news and bad news. The good news is that for millions of people who preordered the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus last week, the wait is almost over. Deliveries of Apple’s new iPhones will begin in less than two days, and the two new handsets will become available in Apple Stores and retail partner stores as well.

Now, for the bad news: If you preordered a 6s or 6s Plus and you live in one of the 17 zip codes listed below, you’re probably not going to get your new phone on Friday.

DON’T MISS: Huge iOS 9 security flaw lets anyone see your photos and contacts without a PIN – here’s how to stop it

The Pope’s highly anticipated visit to the New York area is having a bit of a negative side effect for Apple fans. Because security will be so tight in the areas where the Pope is visiting, deliveries of Apple’s new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be delayed.

As noted by MacRumors, UPS, FedEX, and USPS will all have modified security protocols in effect on Friday, noting that deliveries in certain neighborhoods of Manhattan and Philadelphia will be delayed. Here are all of the zip codes that will be impacted:

New York City: 10001, 10007, 10017, 10021, 10022, 10023, 10029
Philadelphia: 19102, 19103, 19104, 19106, 19107, 19109, 19123, 19130, 19146, 19147

Gawker’s Sam Biddle posted the notice Apple is sending to affected customers, which suggests that deliveries that are prevented on Friday may instead be delivered on Saturday:
