iPhone 6 vs. the world: Here’s how Apple’s new iPhones compare to rival phones

iPhone 6 Vs Galaxy Note 4

Apple finally unveiled its next-generation iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones on Tuesday during its huge press conference at the Flint Center in California, and not a soul in the building was surprised. Thanks to months of leaks, we knew nearly every single detail about Apple’s new iPhone lineup long before it was unveiled. Despite the lack of surprise, however, everyone in the building seemed to be impressed by Apple’s sleek new smartphones, and it looks like we could be marching toward a record launch yet again.

But how do the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus compare to the competition?

FROM EARLIER: iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus: Pricing, release dates and everything else you need to know

Business Insider put together a quick little chart on Tuesday that does a decent job of comparing Apple’s new iPhones to some leading devices from other phone makers. The chart includes the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 from Samsung, the HTC One (M8) and Microsoft’s Lumia 830, and it covers most of the important bases.

Of note, there are some odd discrepancies on the chart. For example, Business Insider included the iPhone camera’s maximum panorama size and for some reason omitted that stat from every other phone model. Conversely, core counts and clock speeds were mentioned for every phone except for the new iPhones.

And here’s a nice size comparison with other Apple devices… and a Pop-Tart.

Both of Apple’s new iPhone models will become available for preorder this Friday, September 12th, ahead of their September 19th release. The iPhone 6 starts at $199 on contract, while the iPhone 6 Plus starts at $299.
