iPhone 6 Rumors

In addition to an insider revealing potential iPhone 6 specs on Twitter, an industry watcher from China has apparently provided more details about the iPhone 6’s sensors on Weibo, G for Games reports. ESM-China news chief analyst Sun Chang Xu has learned from sources familiar with the matter that the iPhone 6 will include atmospheric pressure, temperature and humidity sensors.

The report lines up very nicely with an earlier leak that revealed numerous details surrounding Healthbook, the most important new iOS 8 app Apple plans to debut this year.

Assuming the report is accurate, these new sensors may complement the iWatch’s presumed sensors – the rumored smartwatch will measure heart rate, glucose levels, hydration levels and calories. Several reports have claimed that Apple will include an array of sensors in the iWatch in order to offer users advanced health and fitness features, with a special team comprised of several new Apple employees with expertise in measuring various health parameters already working on the wearable device.

Speaking at AllThingsD last May, Tim Cook revealed the company’s interest in sensors. “The whole sensor field is going to explode,” Cook said mysteriously, without specifying Apple’s exact sensor-related plans. “It’s a little all over the place right now. With the arc of time, it will become clearer,” he said in a conversation about wearable devices including glasses and smartwatches.
