Apple’s in-store pickup program for the iPhone 5s apparently went so well that it’s extending the same offer to the upcoming iPad Air. Both 9to5Mac and MacRumors report that iPad Air buyers will be able to use Apple’s website to reserve their tablets at their nearest Apple shops, where they’ll be held for pickup. That Apple will have its newest flagship tablet available for in-store pickup is a good sign for early supplies of the device, although the same can’t be said for the Retina-equipped iPad mini that will reportedly face major supply constraints when it launches later this fall. 9to5Mac says that there’s been “some unconfirmed chatter” about the Retina iPad mini being available for preorder on November 1st but that nothing has been finalized yet.
