Following the iPhone 6, which regularly appears in pictures in mockup form, an iPad Air 2 mockup – or sixth-generation iPad – has also leaked in similar images, Phone Arena reveals. The images reportedly show the final design of the iPad Air 2, with dimensions, design, ports, camera and button placements supposedly an exact match with the actual iPad Air 2 that will launch later this year.

Overall, the iPad Air 2 dummy unit looks just like the iPad Air, although some minor tweaks can be seen, such as the microphone next to the rear camera.

Most importantly, the dummy unit seems to feature a Touch ID home button, which is consistent with previous reports that suggested all Apple’s 2014 iOS devices, including the upcoming new iPads, will have built-in fingerprint scanners like the iPhone 5s.

Considering that Apple has opened Touch ID access to developers, it only makes sense to assume that more iOS devices will get a fingerprint sensor this year, no matter whether these dummy iPad Air 2 images are real or not.

Photos showing the dummy tablet follow below, with more of them available at the source link.
