Apple has finally released its first-ever public iOS beta, which is available to download and install on any compatible device, including old gadgets like the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2.

So far, iOS beta releases were available to developers and iPhone or iPad users with access to developers accounts. iOS 9 beta 3 was released earlier this week, enabling Apple Music and the News app – here’s how to install that iOS 9 beta 3 on an iOS device.

Meanwhile, regular iOS 9 users who are looking to try out iOS 9 can install Public Beta 1 right now on their devices – in fact, they should go this route rather than running iOS 9 beta 3 without a developer account. All they have to do to get it is to register their interest with Apple (at this link, where Apple offers more details about the beta program) and then perform the installation steps as described in the following video.

YouTube channel iCrackUriDevice, which has provided similar instructions in the past, has posted a detailed clip on how to perform the entire procedure.
