Watch the first trailer for the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ animated series

Guardians of the Galaxy Animated Series Trailer

Despite relatively low expectation, Guardians of the Galaxy was one of the most joyful (and financially successful) surprises of Marvel’s ever-expanding canon. Sure, half of them were aliens, but they still somehow felt more human than the Avengers — flawed, goofy and prone to making terrible mistakes.

We’ll have to wait nearly two years to see the ragtag team on the big screen again, but if you’re just dying to see them action before then, you might want to keep an eye on Disney XD this September when the Guardians of the Galaxy animated series debuts.

Marvel says that short clips from the show introducing the main character will air on Disney XD every Saturday night in August, leading up to a sneak preview of the first episode on Saturday, September 5th at 9:00 pm ET. Then, on Saturday, September 26th at 9:30 pm ET, the one-hour premiere event will begin.

Guardians of the Galaxy will join Avengers Assemble, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. and Ultimate Spider-Man in the Disney XD Marvel Universe block. None of the shows fall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe official canon, but regardless, the reception for each has been mostly positive.

Here’s the very first teaser trailer for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy:

Jacob started covering video games and technology in college as a hobby, but it quickly became clear to him that this was what he wanted to do for a living. He currently resides in New York writing for BGR. His previously published work can be found on TechHive, VentureBeat and Game Rant.
