Yes, people still like mobile apps. Google (GOOG) on Wednesday announced that its Google Play store had now served up more than 25 billion total app downloads, an impressive figure for a store that launched just four years ago. To celebrate this milestone, Google has slashed prices on many of its apps and games to just 25 cents, including offerings from Gameloft, Electronic Arts, Rovio, Runtastic and Full Fat. The store is also offering other “25”-related deals, including “25 movies you must own, 25 banned books, 25 albums that changed the world and our 25 top-selling magazines, all at special prices.”
