Far Cry 4

was one of my favorite games of 2014. It builds upon everything that made its predecessor great and it provides dozens of hours of fun, even beyond its lengthy campaign. To this day, my friends and I are still capturing outposts, hijacking trucks and skinning animals for a few hours every week, but we’ll all still readily admit that the game isn’t perfect.

Last week, a friend and I were on our way to take down the final fortress still standing in his game. Fortresses are like outposts, but far more difficult to capture.

We were thousands of meters away when we began our trek, but rather than find a gyrocopter, we decided to take the scenic route. We hopped in a boat and started making our way north, but halfway there, we hit a wall.

Well, it was more of a waterfall, but regardless, we had no way to climb it. We were just a few minutes from our destination on foot, but we refused to leave the boat behind.

So we started pushing it.

Far Cry 4 has a ridiculous mechanic where you can push a beached boat in order to get it back into the water. Of course, the game can’t detect whether or not you’re actually making a conscious effort to get the boat afloat again, so we took advantage of the game’s limitations and started shoving the boat up the hill, desperate to find another body of water in which to deposit the boat.

Here’s how that turned out:

If you liked what you saw, we plan on having plenty of half-baked adventures in the future with Far Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Dying Light (to name a few), so be sure to subscribe to the BGR TV channel.
