Gallery Doctor

is the name of a new photo management app released by Israeli startup MyRoll. The app has a single purpose: to help you automate photo deletion. As a result, not only will it get you additional free storage space on your smartphone or tablet, but it will also save you precious time.

DON’T MISS: Cool Android messaging app makes sharing pictures easier than ever before

The application is smart enough to recognize bad photos and duplicates, and automatically delete them. And until you’re ready to trust the app, especially when it comes to deleting “bad” but unique photos, you can do the actual photo removal yourself, after the app’s selections are processed.

Gallery Doctor does the boring part, which is going through your photos and selecting the worst ones, and then you’ll be able to decide which images to keep with help of a Tinder-inspired interface — swipe left to discard a photo or right to keep it. The manual feature is especially helpful if you’re interested in keeping some of your memories even if the photos are bad.

This functionality is similar to what similar iOS apps have to offer, such as Flic and Cleen, which is apparently why Gallery Doctor is launching first on Android, and then on iOS in the future.

The same company also has a different camera app, which is exactly the opposite of Gallery Doctor. Called MyRoll Gallery, the app can choose your best photos and videos so you’ll only share great memories with your friends.

Gallery Doctor is available in the Google Play Store as a free download.
