Galaxy S6 Rumor: Release Date and Design

After failing to reach objectives this year, at least when it comes to smartphone sales and profits, Samsung appears to be determined to finally reinvent itself. The company has already started working on new handset designs, looking to improve the overall build quality of its smartphones. As it turns out, this may be a process that culminates with next year’s Galaxy S6 flagship, a phone that’s supposed to be designed from the ground up.

FROM EARLIER: Samsung reportedly won’t get too daring with the Galaxy S6

Some reports revealed the Galaxy S6 might come in two distinct versions, a regular model and a Galaxy Note Edge-like version that might pack Edge displays on both sides, though a more recent rumor on the matter said that such a Galaxy S6 Edge model can’t be confirmed yet.

Further adding fuel to the fire is, however, as the publication learned from reliable sources that the Galaxy S6 could have a curved display on both sides of the main screen, and sport a unibody aluminum case.

The edge displays of the Galaxy S6 might be different from what’s available on the Galaxy Note Edge, although no images showing such a prototype have been leaked.

The Italian publication said that Samsung might not even have two distinct Galaxy S6 in store when it comes to design, and will instead include these features on all Galaxy S6 models. The company will still have different Galaxy S6 versions when it comes to internal components such as processors, with Samsung said to go with the Snapdragon 810 or Exynos 7, depending on region.

Finally, the Galaxy S6 will reportedly debut in the second quarter of 2015, rather than launching earlier at CES 2015, as some rumors claimed.
