The Galaxy S6 might indeed be a marvel of engineering – and it’s definitely the best smartphone Samsung has made to date – but that doesn’t mean the phone is flawless. After certain users complained about screen issues with certain Galaxy S6 units and camera flash problems, other issues that might ruin your experience with the Galaxy S6 edge in particular have now been revealed.

The Galaxy S6 edge apparently suffers from two specific problems that are related to accelerometer functionality and camera ring paint.

Greek blog Techblog.gr has discovered that paint around the camera ring of the handset peels off easily, although it’s not clear how widespread the issue is. Apparently, the risk is even higher for this to happen if you use the Galaxy S6 edge with a case.

Admittedly, this isn’t and shouldn’t be a major issue, considering that all smartphones show wear and tear signs, no matter how well they’re built. But the Galaxy S6 edge is the most expensive flagship smartphone Samsung has made and the phone has just been launched, so it seems way too early for wear and tear marks to appear on it.

The more important issue concerns accelerometer functionality that seems to affect more users. What happens is that the screen sometimes gets stuck in either portrait or landscape mode, and there isn’t a fix in sight yet.

“These people aren’t idiots, so most of them have already thought to check the auto-rotate option in settings,” Phandroid writes about Galaxy S6 edge owners who have complained about the matter. “That makes it a legit problem that’s worth looking into.”

One running theory is that the heat generated through fast-charging the battery of the phone somehow affects the accelerometer chip, although it’s yet to be proven. All Galaxy S6 models come with fast-charging battery chargers, which generate added heat.

A video showing the camera ring paint problem follows below.
