Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 4 during a special media event taking place early next month in Berlin, at IFA 2014, which is not really a surprise considering that all previous Galaxy Note phablet versions were announced at the same trade show. Unlike in previous years, when it took a while for Samsung to actually release the corresponding Galaxy Note model in various markets, in 2014 the company may launch the new Note a lot sooner.

FROM EARLIER: There’s absolutely no doubt the Galaxy Note 4 is coming on September 3rd

According to information provided by a tipster familiar with Samsung’s launch plans for the handset, the Galaxy Note 4 may be released in the week of September 15, Android Authority reports.

Apparently, Samsung banned vacation days for its employees from September 3 to September 5 (a period that coincides with the Galaxy Note 4’s announcement) and for September 15 to September 28, which is when the handset is supposed to land in various markets.

Samsung is yet to confirm the launch and price of the Galaxy Note 4, but it makes sense to see the Korean giant hurry to market with this particular handset. Apple’s iPhone 6 event will take place less than a week after Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 announcement, and Apple will introduce – for the first time ever – bigger iPhone models that will directly compete against bigger Samsung devices, including the upcoming Note phablet. The iPhone 6 is expected to go on sale in mid-September.

Add to that the fact that Samsung’s smartphone sales are in a slump – even though the company still sells more handsets than any Android device maker – and you’ve got one more reason explaining why the Galaxy Note 4 should hit stores faster than its predecessors.
