After a series of leaked images suggested that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Alpha smartphone will only have metal on its edges, with SamMobile saying the phone will be somewhat of a high-end device, a new report from AllAboutSamsung brings in more details about the phone’s specs and features, confirming that the device won’t have the Galaxy S5’s key features.

The publication scored Galaxy Alpha specs details from an AnTuTu benchmark test, which revealed the phone will have a 4.8-inch 1280 x 720-pixel display, octa-core Exynos 5433 processor, Mali-T628 GPU, 2GB of Ram, 32GB of internal storage, no microSD support, 12-megapixel camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, fingerprint sensor, nano SIM slot, heart rate monitor, 1,500mAh battery and Android under the hood.

Interestingly, the benchmark screenshots suggest the phone will score better in tests than last year’s Galaxy Note 3, Samsung’s current flagship phablet.

The same publication posted an image showing the back of the device, in which its model number (SM-G850F) and battery capacity can easily be seen. Additionally, the metal edges are also clearly visible.

AllAboutSamsung also said the phone will be launched on August 13, three weeks before IFA 2014, but pricing details for it aren’t available at this time.
