Fleksy on Thursday announced that its Android keyboard app has broken the Guinness World Record for fastest testing, a feature Microsoft has recently bragged with during its Windows Phone 8.1 unveiling event. Microsoft said that using its Windows Phone WordFlow tech a user was able to beat the old record of 20.53 seconds to type a 126-letter sentence by more than two seconds (18.44 seconds). Now Fleksy says it has bested Microsoft by 0.25 seconds.

“Marcel Fernandes, a longtime Fleksy user, broke the record in New York City with a time of 18.19 seconds at an official Guinness event, making Fleksy the fastest smartphone keyboard in the world,” the company wrote.

“Fleksy takes the coveted title while introducing its much-anticipated next-generation accuracy engine on both mobile platforms. The new Fleksy engine features improved correction accuracy, including space error corrections and an improved language engine for its award-winning keyboard. The previous record holders were Microsoft and Swype,” the company said.

To celebrate the achievement, the company has updated its Android and iOS apps. Furthermore, Fleksy for Android will be available for half price until May 29, with the company also offering two more weeks of free use to Android users that have opted for the 30-day free trial.
