Video: This tiny Dimple will fix all your Android button problems

Dimple Buttons Sticker for Android

Not all smartphone users enjoy their sleek smartphones button-free, and would prefer actual physical buttons for certain actions. Dimple has been imagined with these users in mind, and the project is currently seeking funding on Indiegogo. Each band-aid-like Dimple sticker offers users access to four buttons that can be configured to trigger certain actions on Android smartphones and tablets once an NFC connection is established.

Dimple needs to raise $43,000 by January 10 to become a real product, with the company having already raised more than $26,800 in one day after listing the product on Indiegogo. The cheapest Dimple, available in a predefined color chosen by the user, costs $25 (although it’s not available anymore), while two Dimples retail for $45. The device will ship anywhere in the world at some point in August, assuming funding is successful.

Unfortunately, the Dimple is not made for all Android gadgets. The product is compatible with Android 4.0 or later devices, and the Dimple won’t sit well on metal devices such as the two HTC One models.

The good news is that the Dimple won’t require a battery of its own, and that it’s as thin as five human hairs stacked on top of each other.

A video and a GIF animation that explain how Dimple works follow below.

Chris Smith started writing about gadgets as a hobby, and before he knew it he was sharing his views on tech stuff with readers around the world. Whenever he's not writing about gadgets he miserably fails to stay away from them, although he desperately tries. But that's not necessarily a bad thing.
