This is the heart-pounding ‘Batman v Superman’ trailer you’ve been waiting for

Batman V Superman Trailer

Zack Snyder’s 2013 reimagining of Superman was a fantastic movie. Man of Steel hit all the right notes, and audiences around the world loved it. This is why it was so troubling to learn that the sequel was going to be a bizarre intertwining of the Superman storyline with Batman. And why it was even more troubling to learn that Ben Affleck would play Batman.

After watching the new Batman v Superman trailer released this past weekend at Comic-Con, however, we’re singing an entirely different tune.

The new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer actually managed to convince us that this upcoming intermingling isn’t a monstrosity. In fact, it looks pretty awesome.

The timeline overlaps Man of Steel a bit, rewinding the clock to show how the epic and destructive battle at the end of the movie affected some of the city’s people… including Bruce Wayne. From there, we’re taken on a non-stop roller coaster ride of dark and gloomy action that is, at times, a bit reminiscent of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters next year on March 25th, 2016. Until then, we’ll have to make do with trailers like this one:
