According to reliable information obtained by Kotaku, the next entry in the Assassin’s Creed series will be set in London’s Victorian era and is currently in development at Ubisoft’s Quebec studio. Assassin’s Creed Victory, as it is currently known, will release next fall exclusively for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

In addition to the game’s fresh setting, the “target gameplay video” leaked to Kotaku reveals that Victory will feature several gameplay innovations as well. During the seven-minute long video, the assassin battles atop moving carriages and swings toward his assassination target on a grappling hook, an item that hasn’t appeared in previous entries.

Victory appears to be built on the same Anvil engine as Assassin’s Creed Unity, which is both exciting and worrying, considering how amazing the first current-gen exclusive looked and how many bugs were found within. Hopefully Ubisoft will worked out the worst of the kinks by the time Victory ships.

You might remember that the most recent entries in the series, Unity and Rogue, were also leaked to Kotaku ahead of Ubisoft’s official reveal, but this leak comes even sooner than the last.

And in case you had any doubts about the legitimacy of the leak, Ubisoft has since confirmed that the project is in development at its Quebec studio, although the developer is understandably disappointed that it leaked nearly a year before its release next fall. The following is a statement released to PC Gamer:

“It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we’re disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin’s Creed Unity for players.”

Look for Assassin’s Creed Victory in the fall of 2015 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
