The wait is finally over. The Apple Watch is out and in stores and, not surprisingly, has already been subjected to some extreme torture testing. While we’ve already highlighted how the Apple Watch is much more water-resistant than anyone expected, it turns out Apple’s new wearable can withstand almost any type of torture test people can come with, including being submerged in boiling water.

DON’T MISS: The same strategy that helped make Tidal a disaster is making Apple look brilliant

In a series of tests designed to see just how resilient the Apple Watch is, CNET put the device in water for 10 minutes, pit up against a grater, and abused with a knife. Without fail, the Apple Watch came through working like a champ.

Next, it was time to test the durability of the Apple Watch sports band. Sure, the display may be built like a rock, but no one has yet put any Apple Watch bands through the grinder. So what followed next was dousing the white Apple Watch sports band with wine, maple syrup, ketchup, mustard, peanut butter and more. After rinsing everything off, there wasn’t an objectionable stain in sight.

Following that, it was time to get serious. The Apple Watch was subsequently subjected to boiling water, tried and true drop testing, a few foot stomps, and yet again, the Apple Watch couldn’t be defeated.

There was of course one thing the Apple Watch couldn’t handle — being hammered with a 7 pound skillet. All things considered, the Apple Watch came out looking good.
