It’s finally here, Apple fans — the day you’ve been waiting for. After months of teasers and tiny tastes, the Apple Watch is finally available for preorder in its initial launch markets. Fans filed into Apple Stores around the world and fanboys flocked to fawn over the new Apple device. The crowds were obviously nothing like they are during an iPhone launch, but there were still a few particularly enthusiastic fanboys to help make Apple Watch Day especially interesting.
There are things that are new and things that are familiar about today. The idea of Apple showing off a product in stores that people can’t purchase and walk out with is certainly a change, for example, but Apple’s ridiculously tight supply that can’t come close to meeting demand is quite familiar.
Also familiar are the faces of excited fanboys eager to check out Apple’s latest and greatest gear.
A nice quick video of some of the crowds gathered at Apple Stores around the world was put together by The Guardian on Friday. It’s beyond tame compared to most Apple launches, but there are still a few high notes to be enjoyed courtesy of a couple of Apple fanboys in Tokyo wearing giant paper Apple Watches on their heads.
The Guardian’s full video is embedded below, and the funny fanboys show up just after the half-minute mark.
