Australian judge is just as sick of Apple and Samsung’s patent war as we are

Updated Dec 19th, 2018 8:30PM EST

Apparently we’re not alone in having grown tired of the ongoing smartphone patent wars. An American judge recently gave Apple and Samsung an earful and now, according to All Things D, Australian Federal Court Justice Annabelle Bennett is at the end of her rope with both Apple (AAPL) and Samsung (005930) after she called the dispute between the companies “ridiculous” on Monday and threatened to force the two companies into a room together to work things out on their own. What apparently set Bennett off on Monday was dueling claims by both Apple and Samsung accusing one another of refusing to enter into licensing agreements. “Why on earth are these proceedings going ahead?” she said. “It’s just ridiculous… Why shouldn’t I order the parties to mediation?”
