It’s always fun to read what happens when fans of one mobile platform switch to another for a certain length of time, and web designer and Android fan Joe Casabona recently decided to try the iPhone 6 for a couple of weeks to see if it did anything better than his preferred operating system. While Casabona found a lot to like on the iPhone 6, there still wasn’t enough to convince him to make the switch and he’s decided to stick with Android for now.

We’ll start with the positives: Casabona absolutely loved the iPhone 6’s camera, which he said takes better photos than any other smartphone he’s tried. He also had praise for the phone’s hardware design, its lock screen notifications, and a pull-down widget screen that is “incredibly well designed and very convenient.” In fact, he liked the widget screen so much that he said Android should use it as a model for implementing similar features in the future.

On the downside, however, Casabona really missed having an all-powerful back button on his phone, which is something that’s definitely extremely useful on Android devices. He also found that Touch ID was too buggy, which meant he still had to enter in his iTunes password all too frequently. He also missed having seamless integration between his OS and Google’s suite of incredibly useful mobile apps like he’d get in Android.

In the end, this really all comes down to taste and preference. Casabona likes having options to customize his smartphone experience, although he conceded that many people will like having a phone that doesn’t require any tinkering to work the way you want it to right out of the box.
