You might have missed it amidst a flurry of Apple announcements last week, but rumor has it that Amazon is planning to release a 6-inch tablet ahead of the 2015 holiday shopping season.

The device’s key selling point? It’s low, low price of just $50.

With Amazon reportedly not selling as many of its pricier tablets as it would like, Jeff Bezos and co. are looking to seize the low end of the tablet market with an exceptionally affordable device. The underlying strategy, naturally, is for Amazon to eventually make some real money by getting users to sign up for Amazon Prime. Indeed, the old “let’s sell them a cheap product and make money on the back-end” is Amazon’s go-to move.

But at $50, one has to wonder what type of specs Amazon’s rumored tablet are going to come with. Well, wonder no more.

A tablet believed to be Amazon’s mysterious $50 marvel was recently spotted on GFX Bench. Listed as Amazon KFFOWI, the benchmark report confirms earlier rumors that the device will sport a 6.7-inch 1024 x 600 resolution display. Powering the device will be a 1.3 MHz quad-core MediaTek MT8127 Cortex-A7 processor coupled with about 1GB of RAM. On the back of the device there’s a 1.8 megapixel camera with a .3 megapixel front facing camera.

By way of contrast, Amazon’s $99 Fire HD 6 comes with a 6-inch 1280 x 800 resolution display and a 1.5 GHz processor.

As far as an OS goes, Amazon’s low-end tablet will be running on Android 5.1
