One of the great things about The Simpsons is that many episodes have a number of interesting and hilarious references to events and figures from pop culture. Specifically, writers on The Simpsons seem to have a special knack for incorporating subtle and obscure movie references into episodes that might otherwise fly under the radar if you’re not paying close attention.

While some movie references are overt, such as the Pulp Fiction inspired dialogue between Lou and Chief Wiggum from the classic episode, “22 Short Films About Springfield,” others are far more stealthy.

To help make sense of a lengthy list of movie references that the show has accumulated over the years, you might enjoy this mega compilation video which details every single movie reference The Simpsons writers managed to include and sneak into the show.

We should note, though, that the video below only takes us through the first 8 seasons of the show, a period which is largely considered to be the show’s golden era.

Nonetheless, there are so many great clips here to enjoy and explore. All the better, the geniuses behind this video not only added a split screen so that viewers can see exactly what movie scene is being referenced in each particular clip, it was all put together in chronological order for easy viewing and hopping around.

So whether you’re an old school fan of the show or a relatively new fan who is somewhat unfamiliar with the old classics, this video has a little bit of something for everyone.
