We’ve loved BB-8 ever since we first spotted him rolling around in the first Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer. The cute little robot is a clear hit with the crowds, and might grow to become even more popular than R2-D2 and C-3PO. He’s so cool that he even got the chance to visit NASA and play with the actual robot prototypes that the agency will use for space exploration missions.

Here are some pictures from this epic visit.

Captured at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, the following photos show BB-8 roaming the halls, playing around with various other robots. BB-8 even has a visitor’s badge, and we wouldn’t have it any other way – these pictures were posted on NASA’s JPL Facebook page, along with the following comments:

“These are the droids you’re looking for. BB-8 visited our historic clean room where real NASA space robots are made.”

“The Force is strong with this one. BB-8 learns of NASA’s #JourneyToMars from the NASA’s Curiosity Mars Rover’s test double here in the JPL Mars Yard.”

“BB-8 with JPL’s disaster-relief robot, RoboSimian.”

“BB-8 met many robots on today’s tour of JPL.”
