Untitled Unmastered

is the name of Kendrick Lamar’s brand new album, that’s available for streaming right now on Apple Music, Spotify and Tidal. You can also purchase it on iTunes if streaming is not your kind of deal.

Untitled Unmastered might be Lamar’s second album in less than a year, but the new release is only a “project,” according to Lamar, and contains a set of recordings from 2013 and 2014 which predate To Pimp A Butterfly. The latter won Lamar five Grammys in February.

The new album contains eight songs, which have rather peculiar names. Each song has the word “untitled” in it, follow by a series of dates, which are likely the dates of these recordings – all going back to 2013 and 2014. Lamar did say in previous interviews that he still has material that didn’t make the cut forTo Pimp A Butterfly, because of various reasons. But he said that there was enough stuff for some 10 rarely heard songs.

Untitled Unmastered appears to have been leaked by Spotify before its due date, which isn’t so surprising given that Lamar’s previous album, To Pimp A Butterfly, also leaked a few days ahead of its official release.
