The Galaxy S8 is one of the hottest Android handsets due to be released in the first half of the year, if all the rumors and leaks we keep seeing turn out to be true. That would still be accurate even without any leaks, as the Galaxy S is one of the best iPhone alternatives each and every year.

A brand new report on Friday claims that Samsung has already settled on the Galaxy S8’s final design and specs, so it’s entirely possible that the leaks we’ve seen recently — including the big one we shared earlier today — are accurate.

Tech blog The Android Soul mentions an unspecified Korean media report that says Samsung has finalized the specs and design of the phone, and a prototype has been sent to the CEO and vice chairman.

The report says that the Galaxy S8 will not have a dual camera on the back, due to the high cost associated with it. But the feature isn’t entirely scrapped, as the Galaxy S8 Plus (or Galaxy S8 edge, if Samsung sticks with last year’s naming convention) will feature a dual camera. The report says the physical home button is gone.

The Android Soul also claims that the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back of the Galaxy S8, thought none of the images that have been posted recently show a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S8 in late February at MWC, or during a special Unpacked event to be held in New York in late March. Recent reports said that no matter when Samsung will announce the phone, it won’t be available in stores until mid-April.

While we have no way of verifying The Android Soul’s claims, it makes sense to assume that Samsung has finalized the design of its upcoming flagship at this point. After all, it’s January, and the phone should be heading to mass production soon.
