Forget next-day or even same-day deliveries. Even two-hour shipping doesn’t sound that good when it could be even faster. Amazon is now ready to deliver products in just one hour to your door. But yes, there’s a huge catch: It only applies to certain goods purchased in the UK.

Amazon partners with Morrisons, which is UK’s fourth biggest supermarket chain, for Amazon Pantry and Amazon Fresh purchases in the UK. But that partnership has now reached a new level, as Amazon Prime customers can receive their orders within an hour.

One-hour delivery for Morrisons products will be available initially in select London and Hertfordshire post codes and will cost £6.99. The two-hour option remains available and costs you nothing. So if it’s not urgent, it’s a better choice. Shoppers will have to get the Prime Now app to place orders, where a special “Morrisons at Amazon’ section is available.

Amazon says in its press release that the Amazon Prime Now app also offers access to products from John Bell & Croyden and Spirited Wines, which can also be delivered within one hour of ordering.

Amazon’s desire to provide even faster deliveries is impressive, and it’s something most competitors can’t offer yet. Sure, it’s probably a logistical nightmare, which is why Amazon is partnering with other retailers to get the job done. And it’s probably why the one-hour service is only available in the UK, and only for certain purchases. But it proves that Amazon wants to reduce wait times further, and customers will reap the benefits.

If you live in a region where one-hour delivery is now available but you don’t yet subscribe to Amazon Prime, you can start a free trial right here.
