According to a new report from Macotakara, Apple has plans to spice up the color options available for the recently released iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. In something of a throwback to iPhone models of yore, Macotakara relays that Apple may soon introduce at a Jet White option to its iPhone 7 lineup.

There’s no timeframe as to when Apple might introduce this rumored Jet White iPhone 7, but it stands to reason that Apple would ideally like to get it out on store shelves before the holiday shopping season. Of course, Apple is hardly one to rush out a new color before it’s just right, as we saw with the delayed launch of the iPhone 4 many years back.

And as we saw in recent mockups, a white iPhone 7 would look insanely hot.

What remains unclear is whether or not Apple was planning to release a Jet White iPhone 7 model all along or if it’s a relatively new plan designed to give a last-minute boost to iPhone sales. To that point, a number of analysts believe that the iPhone may experience yet another year over year decline this quarter. At the same time, it’s also possible that Apple saw how quickly folks took to the Jet Black iPhone 7 model and are simply trying to capitalize on that as quickly as they can.

Notably, Macotakara calls its own source for this particular rumor ‘unreliable’ so you definitely want to take this one with a grain of salt. Still, the site has something of a strong track record with respect to Apple rumors so this is a story worth keeping an eye on in the weeks ahead. As it stands now, the iPhone 7 is available in 5 colors: Gold, Rose Gold, Black, Silver and Jet Black.
