2016 has been an embarrassment of riches when it comes to new Android phones so far, as both the Galaxy S7 and the HTC 10 have earned enthusiastic praise from both reviewers and Android fans alike. And while the LG G5 has been getting mixed reviews so far, there’s no doubt that the modular phone is a bold piece of innovation on LG’s part. But which phone is the one that’s really right for you?
To help you find out, Droid Life has put together a thorough 20-minute comparison video that walks you through all the pluses and minuses of this year’s first three flagship Android phones.
Here are some highlights from the video:
- Droid Life says the Galaxy S7 has the best display of any of the three devices, which shouldn’t be surprising given how great Samsung displays always are. The G5 has the worst of the bunch and has been found to perform poorly in outdoor lighting. The HTC 10, while not as good as the Galaxy S7, still has a very nice display.
- For the cameras, it looks like HTC has finally put together a camera that’s at least comparable to the camera on a Samsung flagship phone, although Droid Life ranks it slightly lower when it comes to speed and low-light photography. The G5’s camera is deemed the weakest of the bunch, although Droid Life calls its wide-angle lens “a lot of fun.”
- The HTC 10 offers the best audio experience, which again shouldn’t be surprising given how much better HTC phones’ sound has been in the past compared to rival phones.
- The HTC 10 has the best battery life among all devices equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, although the Exynos-equipped Galaxy S7 has everyone else beat overall.
