With the season 6 premiere of Game of Thrones now less than two weeks away, HBO has begun ramping up its promotional efforts. Just a few days ago, for instance, HBO released a riveting trailer for the upcoming season that provides us with many clues about what we can expect to see once the popular show returns to air on Sunday, April 24.
But HBO isn’t the only entity with Game of Thrones on its mind. Even Apple appears to be getting in on the action, albeit in a much smaller and far-removed way. According to a report from MacRumors, Apple has queued Siri up with a number of canned and quirky responses.
For instance, asking Siri if Jon Snow is dead yields a number of mildly amusing responses. Some examples include:
I’m not sure. Has he tried restarting? That always seems to work.
I don’t know. I just hope someone is setting up doggie daycare for Ghost.
Well, you know what they say to Death… Not today! But why would tomorrow be any better? Anyway, I’m not exactly sure.
Another question you can ask Siri is if winter is coming. The first fews time I tried it, Siri returned the following:
Does a Lannister always pay his debts?
I can’t get the weather for Westeros right now, but I can get you the weather in West Hollywood.
Once the new season of GOT drops, it’ll be interesting to see if the show will once again set new records for piracy. While HBO has historically turned a blind eye to piracy, they finally started (or at least they attempted to) clamping down on pirates last year.
In terms of legit viewers, the season 5 premiere of GOT last year drew in 8 million viewers. Given the hype and anticipation leading up to season 6, it’s a safe bet that the upcoming season premiere will be even more widely viewed.
