Over the past few weeks, you’ve been inundated with news about Thanksgiving, Christmas and Black Friday sales events. It can be overwhelming, but thanks to IBM’s new Watson Trend app, you can begin planning your shopping excursions based on which items you need to pick up first, before anything on your list sells out.

DON’T MISS: Amazon Black Friday 2015 sale announced: Starts this Friday, dozens of deals already revealed

In a press release on Wednesday, IBM detailed the mobile app, which it says “distills the sentiment of tens of millions of online conversations by scouring 10,000 sources across social media sites, blogs, forums, comments, ratings and reviews.” By doing so, Watson is able to determine the general reaction to any product, as well as whether or not that reaction is trending upward or downward.

With this information, users will be able to determine which products are flying off the shelves and which products are falling out of favor. So whether you’re a parent desperately searching for the perfect toy or a single adult in need of a killer HDTV, you’ll find what you’re looking for in the Watson Trend app.

The most impressive aspect of the app is “the story behind the trend” for each and every product within the app. Not only can you find out that the Apple Watch is one of the most talked about tech gifts of the season, you can also find out why everyone is talking about it (and what they do and don’t love about it).

If you’ve been browsing our Black Friday 2015 hub over the past few days, you’ve probably already picked out some TVs, accessories and games to buy, so download the Watson Trend app for iOS on the App Store and start scrolling to see if the items on your list are rising up the charts.
