If your luggage arrives safe and sound at its intended destination, you probably don’t spend too much time wondering how it got there. But if you find yourself in the unfortunate position of being in a completely new city without any of your belongings, well, then you might be curious as to how things might have gone awry.

To help provide some insight into just what exactly happens to your luggage once it’s checked in, the following video features a 360 degree camera attached to a checked-in suitcase as it makes its way through the bowels of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, the Netherlands’ main international airport and the fifth busiest airport in all of Europe.

Suffice it to say, the journey this piece of luggage goes on is much more lengthy, involved, and winding that most people might otherwise assume. If anything, the video makes it almost surprising that more luggage isn’t lost on a daily basis.
