Stephen Colbert Just Interviewed Eminem on a Public Access Show and It Was Hysterical

Many bloggers claim that the week before July 4th can be the most difficult week to find interesting news to write about. It can be tempting to just check out entirely, but every once in a while, something amazing happens.

On Wednesday, something amazing happened: Stephen Colbert showed up Zane Lowe and Apple by interviewing Eminem on a genuine public access show in Monroe, Michigan called Only In Monroe.

The Beats 1 interview was, of course, slightly more informative than Colbert’s, but it wasn’t nearly as funny. Colbert starts out by asking Marshall Mathers how he got to Monroe from his hometown of Detroit, then immediately launches into a poorly conceived Bob Seger music quiz, testing to see if Eminem can sing some classic rock hits off the cuff.

It’s a beautiful disaster, but I don’t want to spoil any more of it. You can watch the full 40 minute (!) episode of Only In Monroe below, but we’ve set the video to start at the beginning of the interview:
