The Leftovers
didn’t have quite the same impact as True Detective or Silicon Valley when it debuted last year, but it got enough people interested in its overarching mystery to get picked up for a second season. In season 2, the show has moved to the fictional town of Mapleton, TX which you can see in the teaser trailer below.

As reported by TVLine earlier this year, much of the cast has been abandoned in the new season as the show takes a creative departure from what we saw last year.
The Garvey family, consisting of Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Chris Zylka and Margaret Qualley are all expected to return, along with key players Christopher Eccleston and Carrie Coon. A new family will also be introduced as the show moves further away from its source material (the book of the same name).
