Android users still annoyed that neither the Galaxy S6 nor the Galaxy S6 edge can offer a few must-have features for Android devices might be better off waiting a few more months, as Samsung is apparently working on a third Galaxy S6 model that will solve the biggest problem people seems to have with the original.

Even though you’re probably better off not having a microSD card on the Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge, because Samsung’s new flagship smartphones have incredibly fast built-in storage that should outperform anything from the competition and deliver SSD-grade speeds, some Android fans are still not happy that Samsung decided to scrape expandable memory when designing the phones.

Furthermore, the Galaxy S6 does not have a removable battery, which could be a problem for many Android power users.

However, a Samsung representative apparently confirmed to a Reddit user that the Galaxy S6 Active version will indeed feature a microSD slot. The phone might also have a removable battery.

The rugged Active model will have similar hardware to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, but won’t be an exact replica of the Galaxy S6 when it comes to certain components. In fact, it appears that Samsung plans to make some notable changes, by including a lower grade camera (that’ll still have optical image stabilization), and remove the fingerprint and heart rate sensors. Buttons on the front are also expected, and the phone should be water-resistant.

The Galaxy S6 Active will supposedly launch this summer, though it’s not clear when it’ll hit stores or how much it’ll cost.
