There are many reasons to love Ikea — or hate it, depending on your experiences with the Swedish company — but smartphone app design probably isn’t one of them. It may be soon, however, because for some strange reason, the company has come up with a smartphone app that focuses on… wait for it… emoticons.

FROM EARLIER: I just added wireless charging to my iPhone 6 in 10 seconds, and it cost less than $20

The purpose of the app is to bridge the gap in communication between men and women, the company hilariously says in the promo video.

Ikea’s Emoticons is the app in question, available for both iOS and Android, and it’s supposed to remove any misunderstandings that might appear between loved ones while texting.

Even though it all sounds like a parody, an Ikea shenanigan meant to further promote its products, the apps are quite real and they can be installed right away free by going to iTunes (see this link) or Google Play (see this link).

And yes, you can expect emoticons related to Ikea furniture to pop up in the app as well.

A video introducing Ikea Emoticons follows below.
