Over the past several weeks, we’ve gotten an increasingly clear picture of what the Galaxy S6 is actually going to be. Some have been more reliable than others, and some have even come directly from BGR, but until Samsung actually announces the device, we’re going to continue to do our best to put the pieces together and keep you up to date with the latest rumors.
This week, Polish blog Android.com.pl published one of the most interesting reveals we’ve seen so far. As with all rumors, it’s hard to know which, if any, of the details are factual, but none of it seems to be too far from the realm of possibility.
According to the report, Samsung’s next flagship phone will feature a connector on the back to allow users to connect new back covers to the phone with advanced functionality. Induction charging could be a possibility, but the report notes that this would be just a scratch at the surface of what’s possible.
Other uses could include an extended version of the S Health app, where the attached cover could measure the user’s blood sugar, which could then be uploaded and sent to a doctor. The attachment could also serve as a second E Ink display to make reading on a phone a more reasonable proposition.
Giving users the ability to customize their Galaxy S6 devices with accessories is a great idea — we’ll just have to wait and see whether or not it’s actually something that Samsung is planning to implement. Be sure to read the full report from the source below for more examples of additional functionality.
