In recent years, the Facebook News Feed has devolved from a streamlined way to keep up with your friends into an endless list of advertisements, quizzes and links. It can be all but impenetrable to those unwilling to comb through it for the updates they actually care about, but Facebook is introducing new features for the News Feed which will give you the ability to control what you see.

In your News Feed settings, you will now see a list of the people, Pages and Groups that contributed most heavily to Facebook in the past week. If you’re tired of hearing from any of them, you can unfollow them straight from the settings menu. If you ever want to add someone back, Facebook will also keep track of everyone you’ve unfollowed, so deciding to follow again is just a click away.

Facebook has included a small arrow at the top of every post in your News Feed for quite some time. This arrow allows you to hide a post, but now Facebook will prompt you to see less from the source of the post in the future as well. If you choose to see less, you can then unfollow them entirely.

The updated News Feed settings are available right now on mobile and desktop, so if you’ve been waiting for the right time to unfollow that one guy, now’s your chance.
