The cloud storage wars have finally reached their inevitable climax — Microsoft announced on Monday that all Office 365 subscribers are now eligible to receive unlimited storage on OneDrive for no additional cost. The rollout for Office 365 Home, Personal and University customers begins today and will continue over the coming months. If you want to jump to the front of the line, be sure to visit the OneDrive landing page and click ‘Get on the list.’

LAST TIME: Microsoft’s OneDrive is now one of the best cloud storage bargains

OneDrive for Business customers will have to wait a little longer for their chance to take advantage of unlimited storage, but Microsoft plans to update the Office 360 roadmap soon with more specific release information. Until then, Business customer can start filling up the 1TB of storage that’s already available on the service.

With Office 365 plans starting as low as $6.99 a month, there’s no better deal in cloud storage from any of Microsoft’s fiercest competitors. Google and Dropbox have been quick to respond in the past, but they’re going to be hard pressed to produce a more enticing offer than this. Until they do, we’ll just appreciate how fruitful healthy competition has been for the cloud storage market.
