In addition to China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom, the three carriers that already took more than a million iPhone 6 preorders, Apple’s online stores and “thousands of authorized resellers” have also started taking preorders, according to Tencent.
Even more interestingly, more than 9 million iPhone 6 units have apparently been reserved with retailers before official preorders even started. Chinese website JingDong had registered more than 9 million iPhone 6 reservations, almost evenly split between the iPhone 6 (4,542,448 units) and iPhone 6 Plus (4,694,853 units), although the numbers favor the 5.5-inch device slightly.
Apple has already confirmed it sold over 10 million iPhone 6 units during the phones’ launch weekend, and is believed to have sold more than 21 million units in the first two weeks, in the 30+ markets the phones are available in at this time.
The new iPhones will launch in China, and also in India, next Friday, on October 17th.
