In return for all of the money Samsung spent on the 86th annual Academy Awards on Sunday night, host Ellen DeGeneres took photos with a Galaxy smartphone on stage throughout the night, and while mingling with the star-studded audience (yes, we know she also posted photos with her own iPhone while backstage — no one cares). One of the resulting photos she posted to Twitter using the phone quickly became the most retweeted photo of all time. While that image came out just fine, another one DeGeneres tweeted while on stage came out a bit blurry, and Nokia quickly used the photo as an opportunity to remind the world that its camera phones are among the best in the world.

“Let’s do away with blurry photos, Ellen!” Nokia posted from its U.S. account on Sunday. The tweet included a copy of the blurry selfie DeGeneres snapped with a Samsung smartphone while on stage.

Nokia, of course, is responsible for making the single best camera phone on the planet. We’re not sure there is even really a close second to Nokia’s Lumia 1020. The handset features a 41-megapixel camera with a xenon flash and Nokia’s own custom optical image stabilization solution. As such, there’s a good chance that DeGeneres’s on-stage selfie would indeed have come out a bit clearer had it been taken with the Lumia 1020.

As it stands, however, Nokia didn’t pony up the dough so the world will never know.

Of note, DeGeneres’s blurry selfie had been retweeted 171,629 times as of the time of this writing. Nokia’s tweet mocking the photo had been retweeted 332 times.
